ECO FRIENDLY FURNTURE

Upholstery has always been. Eco friendly as traditional upholstery materials are all natural. Such as horse hair, coir fibre, the husk of a coconut which provide seat fillings .Cotton felts for softness, hemp for Hessian, rubber latex and jute webbing to name a few .As we moved into the industrial age, new materials were invented out of petrol Such as UV foams nylon., Polyester and other plastics .As you know these man made materials are very heavily chemically based. This was a great breakthrough at the time and the industry benefited from these easy to mass produced cheap products. No one was to know that the chemicals in these materials Would have such a great effect on our health and environment years later.

MORE SUSTAINABLE FURNTURE

The furniture industry in the UK is responsible for 1.6 million tonnes of waste per year because of the heavy chemical content of upholstered furniture, makes it one of the most difficult. to recycle. Therefore most of it ends up in landfill. Which we now know is detrimental for our environment. Just look at what's happening all over the world. More frequent earthquakes. forest fires. floods. extraordinary weather patterns. Record temperatures across the globe.

ITS TIME TO START RECYCLING MORE AND FIND WAYS TO MAKE OUR NEW FURNITURE MORE ENVIROMENT FRIENDLY.
